Town Level
Description
The Town Level is the starting area of Remixed Dungeon where players begin their adventure. It serves as a safe zone with various buildings and services to prepare for the dungeon expedition.
Features
- Safe Zone: No hostile monsters or combat
- Preparation Hub: Where players can equip items and plan their dungeon descent
- Services: Contains shops, inn, library, and other buildings
- NPCs: Various non-player characters providing lore and services

- Town Guards - Provide security and lore
- Townspeople - Regular citizens with various messages
- Silent Townspeople - Quiet townspeople with minimal dialogue
- Movie Theater Patrons - Referencing cinema's special service
- Shop Vendors - Sell equipment and supplies
Special Mechanics
- Players can use Town Portal spell to return to this level (unless NO_TOWN challenge is active)
- Cannot be accessed from boss levels using Town Portal
- Serves as a safe haven for resting and preparation
Level Design
- Based on tileset: tiles_town_outside_winter.png
- Features a grid layout with buildings and paths
- Contains various signs pointing to different locations
- Includes decorative elements to enhance the town atmosphere
Challenges
- Affected by NO_TOWN challenge which prevents use of Town Portal spell
Strategy
- Use this level to prepare equipment before descending into the dungeon
- Stock up on potions and scrolls before entering the dungeon
- Familiarize yourself with available services
- Use as a safe retreat when needed (with Town Portal)
