Playable Classes
Playable classes are the different character types that players can choose when starting a new game. Each class has unique abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.
Classes Available
- Warrior - The melee specialist with high health and starting equipment
- Mage - The spellcaster with magical abilities
- Rogue - The stealth specialist with high evasion and detection
- Huntress - The ranged specialist with throwing weapon mastery
- Elf - A ranged and magic specialist with magical resistance
- Necromancer - A dark magic specialist who commands undead
- Gnoll - A playable gnoll character with unique abilities
- Plague Doctor - A specialist in toxic and curative arts
- Lich - An advanced subclass of the Necromancer class (mastery of Necromancy)
- Priest - A divine magic user focused on healing (Currently “Coming Soon” - Not available for normal gameplay)
Class Unlocking
Different classes have different unlock requirements:
- Warrior, Mage, Rogue: Available from the start
- Huntress: Unlocked by defeating the 3rd boss DM300 with any class
- Elf: Unlocked by defeating the 4th boss The King with any class
- Gnoll: Unlocked by befriending a Gnoll Brute in the Caves (levels 11-14), getting it damaged, and healing it at the town priest
- Necromancer: Available by default in this mod (Necromancer NPC also appears in Prison level 7 after defeating the Lich boss with any other class)
- Priest: Currently marked as “Coming Soon” in the game and not available for normal gameplay
Class Advantages
- Unique Abilities: Each class has special abilities not available to others
- Starting Equipment: Different classes start with different equipment
- Stat Bonuses: Classes may have different base stats
- Specialization: Classes are optimized for different play styles
Common Class Features
- Mastery: Advanced class-specific techniques (available at level 10)
- Class Armor: Powerful special abilities or equipment unique to each class
- Special Mechanics: Unique resources or abilities tied to the class
- Mastery Paths: Each class can choose from specific mastery options to specialize
Choosing a Class
Consider your preferred playstyle when choosing a class:
- Aggressive: Warrior or classes with strong melee capabilities
- Magical: Mage or other spellcasters
- Stealthy: Rogue or other sneaky characters
- Ranged: Huntress, Elf or other ranged specialists
- Support: Plague Doctor, Priest or other healing-oriented classes
- Summoner: Necromancer for undead minions
