Named Entity Kind - Code References
Java Classes
// In NamedEntityKind.java package com.nyrds.pixeldungeon.mechanics; public interface NamedEntityKind { String getEntityKind(); //this one for machines String name(); //this one for humans }
Interface Definition:
- Package: `com.nyrds.pixeldungeon.mechanics`
- Methods:
- `getEntityKind()` — returns the machine-readable entity kind identifier (e.g. used for serialization, factory lookup, JSON configuration matches)
- `name()` — returns the human-readable name used in UI and logs
JSON Configuration
The `NamedEntityKind` interface does not have JSON configuration. It is:
- A Java interface implemented by base game entity classes (mobs, items, buffs, spells, etc.)
- Used as a common contract for identifying and naming entities
String Resources
The `NamedEntityKind` interface does not reference string resources directly. The `name()` method is typically implemented in subclasses to return values from string resources via `StringsManager.getVar(R.string.XXX)`.
Lua Scripts
The `NamedEntityKind` interface is implemented entirely in Java. No Lua scripts use it directly.
