Prison

The Prison is a dungeon area located beneath the sewers, originally built many years ago for the most dangerous criminals. It's a challenging area with both mechanical and magical dangers.

Description

Many years ago an underground prison was built here for the most dangerous criminals. At the time it seemed like a very clever idea, because this place indeed was very hard to escape. But soon dark miasma started to permeate from below, driving prisoners and guards insane. In the end the prison was abandoned, though some convicts were left locked up here.

Level Characteristics

  • Dungeon Depth: Levels 6-10 of the main dungeon
  • Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
  • Environment: Crumbling prison facilities with cells and corridors
  • Enemies: Former prisoners, guards, and magical creatures
  • Layout: Prison-like layout with cells, corridors, and locked doors

  • Locked Cells: Many areas are locked behind prison doors
  • Keys: Specialized keys required for access
  • Dark Miasma: Environmental effect causing corruption
  • Traps: Prison security mechanisms
  • Barricades: Areas blocked by debris or barriers

  • Insanity Effects: Possible mental status effects
  • Navigation: More complex layouts than sewers
  • Isolation: Some areas may be difficult to escape from
  • Boss Level: Level 10 features the Tengu boss encounter

Strategy

  • Be prepared for more challenging enemies than the sewers
  • Collect keys for accessing locked areas and hidden treasures
  • Prepare for magical enemies and effects
  • Prepare for the Tengu boss on level 10
  • Manage healing items carefully due to increased difficulty
