Bows and Arrows Item
In Remixed Pixel Dungeon there is a new type of weapons - bows. Any class can use a bow, but only an elf can do damage by firing arrows at close range. Arrows are required in order to use a bow. Bows can also perform melee attacks, but they are completely ineffective in close combat for all classes except elves.
How Bows Work
- Bows are ranged weapons that require arrows to function
- When equipped with arrows, bows allow the player to attack enemies at range
- Only elves can deal significant damage when firing arrows at close range (adjacent squares)
- Other classes deal very little damage when shooting arrows at close range
- Bows have specific accuracy and delay factors that affect their performance
- Bow performance is enhanced by the bow's level and attributes
Quiver
- The Quiver is a special bag that can store any amount of arrows
- It is sold by the shopkeeper in the Town level for 50 gold
- Unlike what some sources might suggest, the quiver does not specifically protect arrows from burning
- It simply provides unlimited storage for arrows
Bows List
- Wooden Bow - The simplest bow. Requires 9 strength. Has dynamic accuracy factor that increases by 0.1 per level and dynamic damage factor that increases by 0.25 per level. Burns in fire (returns null when burned).
- Compound Bow - A more advanced bow. Requires 11 strength. Has dynamic accuracy factor that increases by 0.2 per level and dynamic damage factor that increases by 0.5 per level. Delay factor is 1.1. Also burns in fire like the wooden bow.
- Ruby Bow - The most powerful bow with the highest base damage. Requires 13 strength to use. Has standard accuracy factor. Base damage factor increases by 1 per level (much higher than other bows). Delay factor increases by 0.2 per level. Also burns in fire.
Arrows List
- Common Arrow - Regular arrow without any special effect. Base damage 2-5. Base delay 0.75. Base min 2, base max 5. All other types of arrows are obtained by using potions on them.
- Fire Arrow - Ignites the enemy on hit. Base damage 1-6. Base delay 0.75. Base min 1, base max 6. Has a 25% chance to apply burning effect when hitting an enemy.
- Frost Arrow - Slows down the enemies affected. Base damage 0-6. Base delay 0.75. Base min 0, base max 6. Has a 25% chance to apply slow effect when hitting an enemy.
- Poison Arrow - Poisons the enemy. Base damage 3-4. Base delay 0.75. Base min 3, base max 4. Has a 25% chance to apply poison effect when hitting an enemy. Poison duration increases with the bow's level.
- Paralysis Arrow - Paralyzes opponents. Base damage 0-4. Base delay 0.75. Base min 0, base max 4. Has a 25% chance to apply paralysis effect when hitting an enemy.
- Health Arrow - Heals the hero when used by a hero. Base damage not specified. Base delay 1.0. Has a 25% chance to provide healing when hitting an enemy.
- Amok Arrow - Causes the target to attack random creatures. Base damage not specified. Base delay 1.0. Has a 25% chance to cause amok effect when hitting an enemy.
Obtaining Special Arrows
- Special arrows (Fire, Frost, Poison, Paralysis, Health, Amok) are created by using potions on regular arrows
- Potion of Liquid Flame on regular arrows creates Fire Arrows
- Potion of Frost on regular arrows creates Frost Arrows
- Potion of Toxic Gas on regular arrows creates Poison Arrows
- Potion of Paralytic Gas on regular arrows creates Paralysis Arrows
- Potion of Healing on regular arrows creates Health Arrows
- Potion of Strength on regular arrows creates Amok Arrows
